The EU's new NIS2 cybersecurity law reaches further than most European headquarters realise – including into Malaysian operations. Group-wide implementation projects frequently overlook three critical local gaps: incident reporting timelines that were never designed for cross-border escalation, local IT providers that fall outside EU supervisory frameworks, and two parallel regulatory regimes that do not map neatly onto each other.
